    Is It Nepotism?

Guest Editorial by contributor "Respecta" asks us to press the investigation into WHY Dan Rather is protecting the source of his nearly-impossible-not-to-be forgeries. She thinks the circumstances point to paternal nepotism.

If it is, then that may be the guilty reason nobody within the MSM dares speak its name. Dan would surely not be the first to defend a loved-one advanced to a position where they could inflict damage on the parent and all that the parent represents. Perhaps others within the Establishment are thinking "There, but for the grace of God, go I." Hence the silence.

We in the blogosphere are less likely to suffer from such exposure -- unless we too are failing at our day jobs and we too retained our positions via familial connections. So the question is, even if you are and did, are you willing to ask Dan the tough question anyway? If Dan has become as corrupt as it seems he has, he's got to be pushed out to prevent worse consequences down the road.

To let his type and this stonewalling go on further endangers our institutions and our republic. The moral relativists will have succeeded in taking us down another notch.

Last night I received a comment from a reader regarding yesterday's advisory. He included an attachment for which he did not give me warning other than that I download it.
I, on the other hand, will give you fair warning before you click below:
Put down any liquid currently in your hands, and swallow anything currently in your mouth.
    Okay? Now click here

The author of this bit of humor is currently unknown to us. If someone would step forward, we would cheerfully give them credit. If that person works for the MSM, we understand their shyness. In that case, please have them send us their preferred pseudonym through our secure arrangements provided at the bottom of this page. -- PF

    UPDATE 4 PM 09/14/04:
Stepping up to claim credit we have Voice of Reason, who initially posted this to his blog at www.politicalities.com.
Thank you VoR for sharing your vision.

Someone owes me a new keyboard though.

A Helpful Thought to Share the Next Time You're With Larry King Viewers

I had just completed my nightly work-out when I and my opponent passed by the TV in the sports lounge.
Larry King was conducting another celebrity-in-decline interview.
The man was ranting -- now how's this for variety? -- about Bush and Cheney.
Any viewer could tell King thought his guest's commentary was the height of brilliance.

Well, apparently I wasn't the only one thinking what I was thinking, because several others in the room overheard me and turned and laughed when I groaned and asked my buddy:

"Tell me, 'cause I don't quite remember: how high an SAT score is needed to get into celebrity school?"

(This is the question I've been fantasizing for years to hear Mr. King, in a senior moment, to musingly ask one of his guests).

The most cheering thing about this episode is that my athletic club, in the heart of Los Angeles (which has its fill of celebrities), is full of liberals. Ya think this town may know something first-hand that the rest of the nation  hasn't personally experienced?

See? I keep telling you all that there is hope for our nation.
